The Lapeirousia pyramidalis subsp. regalis flower in picture has a blue-purple dorsal tepal, a pair of pink-blotched, pale pink-purple, lateral ones and three dark, magenta-marked tepals in the lower lip, closer together than those of the upper lip.

The white markings on the lower tepals, from the base to where the tepals widen, are narrow along the margins and rounded at their front ends. All six tepals are here concave, shallowly bowl-shaped in their upper parts, round-ended where they curve in with small protruding tips or possibly notched.

The floral tube of L. pyramidalis varies from 2 cm to 4 cm.

The style in picture is close to the dorsal tepal, the three stamens in front of it shorter. The white and deep blue-purple anthers are two-lobed and oblong (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
