Lobostemon glaucophyllus sequence of flower colours

Flower colour of Lobostemon glaucophyllus changes as the flowers age. The faint purple of the bud in picture and the light blue of young flowers are more appealing than the shades of brown setting in with more intensity as withering proceeds.

The small, pointed sepals more or less match the leaves in shape and colour, not in size.

There is very little of leaf margin toothing in evidence on this plant, often quite common on plants of the south in the Western Cape. The photo was taken at Naries in Namaqualand.
