Lampranthus coralliflorus, commonly known in Afrikaans as the kransvygie (rock mesemb) and previously as L. dependens, is a sprawling, much-branched shrublet that reaches 30 cm in height.

The species distribution is in the Western and Eastern Cape from Montagu to the Baviaanskloof Mountains. The photo was taken near Barrydale.

The habitat is sandstone slopes and cliffs among fynbos and karoid scrub of coastal and inland mountains. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
