Lampranthus coralliflorus typically sprawls on fynbos mountain slopes from sandstone cliff edges, coping with variable rainfall.

The central cone of white, filamentous staminodes and stamens is tinged pink near the tips in the photo. This plant bears flowers that comprise only a single ring or row of petals.

The photo was previously presented as L. dependens, the earlier name of the species (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998).
