The ground-level leaf rosette of Ledebouria sandersonii consists of three to six oval leaves. They are sometimes heart-shaped at the base, their tips acutely to obtusely pointed. The bright to dull green blades are smooth, sometimes purple-spotted or -striped, the spots or lines faint to deep. The blades may be prostrate or angled up and outwards, flat or the lateral margins curving up. The leaves are up to 7,5 cm long and 3 cm wide, variable in shape and size (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
