Leucospermum truncatulum new growth

The leaves of Leucospermum truncatulum, also known as the oval-leaved pincushion, are small for a Leucospermum, from 1 cm to 2,5 cm long and 5 mm to 1 cm wide. The leaves, covered in soft silvery hairs with a velvety texture, are elliptic in shape with one tooth at the leaf tip. Mature leaves are blue-grey to green-grey in colour, just visible at the bottom of this photo.

The young growth is pale green to yellowish green in this photo with shades of red and yellow at the stem tips. The leaves are spaced and overlapping around the young stems, hairy especially in the upper, younger parts (Manning, 2007; Matthews and Carter, 1993; iNaturalist).
