Jamesbrittenia stellata

The flowers of Jamesbrittenia stellata may be found on the plant at any time of the year. Flowers grow from leaf axils on slender stalks. The five green sepals at the base of the corolla are short. The flowers have long corolla tubes with five oblong corolla lobes that are flat-tipped, giving the petals a rectangular appearance.

Flower colour may be bright pink as here, white or pale pink as in another specimen in this Album. A wedge-shaped red or yellow marking appears at the base of each petal lobe. Two pairs of stamens of varying length are inside the narrow corolla tube that has a kink just before the flower mouth (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997).
