This young Euphorbia sekukuniensis plant shows healthy growth in a well-developed crown. The multiplying of stems at intermittent branching points keeps the crown dense in spite of increase in size. Lateral branches are pushed sideways continually but present their young tips in erect positions or nearly so, angling outwards just a little. Stem colouring is dark green lower down, yellow-green near the tips on this plant at the end of autumn.

As the main stem lengthens on older trees, lower branches wither and drop off, creating the E. sekukuniensis look of a rounded crown on a bare stem.
