Crassula tomentosa var. tomentosa is a low-growing, disc-leaf succulent thriving in sandy and gravelly soil.
After flowering the tall inflorescence dries and its rosette dies with it or soon after. The plants are, however, biennial or even perennial if comprising more than one leaf rosette.
New rosettes and even a new inflorescence have grown from other branches of the plant or plants in picture.
All the higher stem-leaves are smaller, diminishing in size up the stem where they are arranged opposite and perpendicular to each previous, or decussate (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
