This unusual Hermannia of the Cape Columbine beach area has pinnate, succulent leaves. The plant fragrance landed it the name, Hermannia procumbens subsp. orgasmiodorata, or the formalities have yet to be concluded.
The shiny, ascending tips of the pinnae or leaflets are flattened or hollowed on top, pale to yellow green or red-brown in colour.
The plant is a sprawling perennial, adapted to sea-spray, salty sand and full sun (iNaturalist).
