This Hermannia bearing succulent leaves close to the sea at Tietiesbaai may attract more attention if the process by which it is intended to be named as Hermannia procumbens subsp. orgasmiodorata is successfully concluded.

Apart from its odour and name, the red buds and pale, pendulous flowers over straggly branches have merit as well. The plant holds its own among coastal vegetation by what may be a rather small distribution. As the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve contributes to its safekeeping in nature, this may become one of those species called rare but unthreatened in its habitat (David Gwynne-Evans, personal communication, 2022; iNaturalist).
