Near the waterholes, especially the larger ones that rarely disappoint the thirsty locals, grass and small plants may have given up, trampled by many feet. The magic guarris survive this, offering sheltered havens for other plants to grow under them.

Such terrain is very useful to carnivores for ambushes. Awaiting the arrival of dinner unseen among the dense evergreens around the shopping centre is rather convenient. Field-craft is key here: wind direction, the right position, silence, hearing and smell are all important; equally important to the hunter and the hunted.

Will the moment of surprise be fatal? Life is good to winners!
