Albuca nelsonii blooming starts

The flowers of Albuca nelsonii are produced in a many-flowered, unbranched raceme. Each flower pedicel emerges above a triangular bract that is white with a pointed green tip and prominent when in bud or while the flower is young. The pedicels become long, nearly erect as the flowers mature; the peduncle below is sturdy and green.

The flowers are white with green bands down outer surfaces of the tepals that become about 3 cm in length. The inner tepals remain erectly together, the outer three opening and spreading in the familiar Albuca fashion.
