The stalkless, blue flower of Aristea bakeri has a blue unlobed style and three stamens with filaments that are blue apart from their basal parts. The filament bases are cream, greenish or pale yellow, coloured as the eye of the corolla, a small patch of tepal bases deviating from the blue of the rest of the flower. Corolla diameter is about 3 cm. The blue of the style and the filaments are darker than the tepal colour. The filaments in picture are far from straight, as if in leisurely mood, unlike the style that seems to shun them and their bright yellow, oblong, two-lobed anthers.

Bloomtime is spring and early summer (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
