This Arctotis revoluta plant in habitat is ensconced among rocks in the Biedouw Valley. Rocks big and small, even loose stones may do good things for plant life.

Old A. revoluta plants tend to have some rigid, big branches, the growth habit becoming straggly, irregular and untidy. New growth after good winter rain appears to go the way of a rounded shape, but who knows what will happen tomorrow and which plant parts will make it through trials and tribulations to come.

Life is about making do with what remains for or becomes available in every new day (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
