    Arctotis revoluta also flowers orange as this Biedouw Valley plant is doing. One row of partly overlapping ray florets spread and ascend slightly around the yellow disc of the open flowerhead. Outer rows of disc florets in picture are already open here, some stamens and styles exserted.

    The bud to open imminently is already erect, the spent flowerhead again drooping, as in its early bud stage.

    Differences are notable between the inner bracts of the bud involucre that are broad and membrane-tipped and the outer ones sporting conspicuous, recurving tails. The intermediate bract rows have neither, only dark-rimmed, rounded tips (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
