Agathosma odoratissima, in Afrikaans commonly known as breëblaarboegoe (broad-leaved buchu), is a dense, rounded shrub growing to 70 cm. It resprouts after fire, but should burning be avoided, the shrub tends to grow even taller and willowy.
The leaves are broadly rounded or pointed, their margins entire. They exude a strong citrus scent when crushed.
The species distribution lies in Western Cape mountains from the Cederberg to Caledon.
The habitat is damp spots on upper fynbos slopes among rocks in sandstone terrain. The future of the species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century (Bean and Johns, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot; www.redlist.sanbi.org).
