The almost white flowers of Agathosma capitata grow in dense heads on short peduncles at stem-tips.
Long white filaments are presented in great profusion, dwarfing other floral parts below. Anthers in varying colours of beige-yellow to orange-brown and dark brown are presented on some filaments, others are sterile staminodes bearing nothing.
The short, clawed, creamy petals are longer than the five keeled, leaf-like sepals. The linear petal claw is longer than its blade. The five petals are hairy in the centre, smooth at base and tip.
Flowering happens late in winter and spring. The photo was taken middle August (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; JSTOR; iNaturalist).
