    The oldest Agathosma riversdalensis fruits in the photo are the light brown, dry ones that have opened the slits on top for seed release.

    The youngest fruits are dark green and shiny, the three capsule tips still shorter. The fruits turn yellow gradually, losing their shine with their succulence; soon to open and lose their seeds as well.

    The dark dots are from the glands present on the fruit (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
