Fruit shapes among Aloe species are rather similar: short, cylindrical capsules rounded at both ends, divided into three segments where longitudinal channels are visible. It is much easier to identify Aloe striata from its leaf rosette or inflorescence than from checking shape, size and colour of its capsules.
The few Aloe species growing in a particular neighbourhood may be recognised from regular observation of their capsules, mostly not the numerous capsules of the large genus (Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Reynolds, 1974; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist).
