This Kenyan Aloe is popular with gardeners. The photo was taken in the Gibraltar Botanical Garden where the conditions for growing many Aloe species are particularly favourable.

The plant resembles the South African spotted aloes that bear leaf spots or H-shaped whitish markings. They also have conspicuous swellings at the base of each flower or perianth, or the flowers are club-shaped. There are around 25 of these species in South Africa.
