    The Aloe globuligemma buds have more colour than the open perianths that lose the red in favour of pale yellow or cream. This happens particularly in the upper parts that widen. Only the very tips of the segments recurve in older, open flowers.

    Both anthers and styles are exserted, the white style the furthest, once the elongation is complete. The exserted filament part next to the anther tends to darken, even blacken.

    White stigmas and orange-brown anthers curve up, a habit convenient for pollinators and smart marketing contrived by evolution. Most pollinators arrive here by air, although the airlines are quieter since Covid-19. All culture is merely a temporary feature of nature (Frandsen, 2017; Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist).
