Abutilon grandiflorum leaf

The simple, alternate leaves of Abutilon grandiflorum grow on finely hairy, green or red purple petioles about as long as the leaf blade. Heart-shaped, the leaves have large rounded basal lobes that may overlap at the back; roundly tapering to the front end of the leaf where a hint of a shallow, lateral lobe midway to the leaf tip may be present.

The irregular toothing on the leaf margins is often angular and variable in size. Conspicuous whitish veins radiate from the leaf base, losing colour and definition into visible net-veining towards the margins on the green upper surface.
