Adromischus hemisphaericus is a dwarf shrublet, a leaf succulent reaching heights from 15 cm to 30 cm in its summer bloomtime, the height mainly contributed by the inflorescence stem. The plant branches a little at ground level, the stem base woody in a mature plant.
The species distribution is in the Western Cape, from the Cape Peninsula northwards to the far southwest of the Northern Cape, and eastwards to Uniondale.
The habitat is dry rocky slopes of sandstone fynbos, granitic renosterveld and karoid scrub. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iNaturalist; www.thesucculentgarden.com.au; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
