    The flowers of Cyphia sylvatica var. sylvatica may be white as seen here, but the flowers may sometimes be pale lilac in colour. There are dark purple markings at the base of the three upper petals. These upper petals are positioned close together, the tips of the outer two veering outwards just a little. The two lower petals point outwardly. Flower size is about 1 cm across. Flowering occurs in spring, although autumn blooming occurs as well.

    These flowers were seen in September near Oudtshoorn (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
