    The pale-yellow petals of Cleretum papulosum become more than double the sepal length before they open in sunshine. Each bud develops on its own long stalk.

    The plant was seen on the Matjiesfontein flower farm near Nieuwoudtville during August. It may be subsp. schlechteri.

    The stalked, paddle-shaped leaves are yellow and red with strain from production although the rainy season is not even quite over (Manning, 2009; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
