Cyanella orchidiformis flower

A Cyanella orchidiformis flower is mauve or pink-mauve to almost white in colour with darker markings near the segment bases. These markings may also occur on the outer surfaces of the segments.

There are six segments or tepals, spreading widely at anthesis, the time when the flower has fully opened. The three lower anthers are arched and larger than the upper three straight ones. The flower diameter is 2 cm to 2,5 cm (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist).
