    The fragrant inflorescence of Cyanella orchidiformis is a lax raceme or a sparsely branched panicle standing tall above its leaf rosette.

    The flowers grow on purple, curved, fairly erect pedicels. There is a narrow, pointed bract, pale and papery at the pedicel base of each flower as well as one halfway up the pedicel length.

    Flowering happens from midwinter to early spring. The photo was taken early in August (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist).
