    In profile the Cyrtanthus leucanthus flower shows the elegant arch of the perianth tube that widens gradually to its mouth, where the notched or mucronate, rounded tepal tips curve out in trumpet fashion. Cream or nearly white at the tepal tips, the outside is increasingly grey-brown to its base.

    The dark green ovary is small, inferior and three-loculed. It links the tepals to the thickish pedicel. The two long, narrow bracts are withered and papery brown in picture, emerging where pedicel meets scape (Bean and Johns, 2005; Mustart, et al, 1997).
