Bushveld terrain may in places be dominated by rooibos, botanically known as Combretum apiculatum subsp. apiculatum. Such rooibosveld is mostly characterised by being open land with a grass covering and sparsely scattered trees, many of them rooibos.
Tall winter grass provides protective ground cover and food for grazers. Incidentally, there is a lone lioness in the centre of the picture, probably looking for one of the better fed grazers. You may see this lioness in the Kruger National Park as well one day, as there are no longer fences between Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the Kruger.
