Crassula alpestris subsp. massonii flowers

At close quarters the fleshy Crassula alpestris subsp. massonii corolla lobes can be seen curving out from the mouth, slightly channelled and spreading widely. The corolla tube below it is urn-shaped. The pale brown, slightly translucent sepal lobes are short, bluntly pointed and about as wide as the corolla lobes.

Flowers of different ages make up the clusters. Flowering happens from late in winter to spring. The photo was taken in September (Frandsen, 2017; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
