Crassula sladenii well branched

Crassula sladenii shrublets branch at the base and higher up. The stems are yellowish when young, becoming dark and woody with age. Dry leaves and stems tend to persist on the plant, as do the dry inflorescences as in picture.

The flowers are small and white with black anthers. They grow in dense, branched and rounded inflorescences at stem-tips. This specimen sports many brown panicles maybe dispersing seed.

There is a belief that climate change is currently reducing the population of this plant and many other species, as many drought related dead plants are seen, apparently not being replaced much in the prevailing habitat conditions (Smith, et al, 2017; iNaturalist).
