The leaves of Crassula sladenii are thickly succulent and opposite, touching and merging at the base like those of C. perforata. This fused leaf-pair feature has earned the plant an Afrikaans name of groot inrygertjie (big little stringer(!)), conforming with the C. perforata name of inrygertjie (little stringer).

The leaf margins are lined dull pink or purple. Tiny, dark dots are scattered on the upper leaf surfaces away from the leaf base. Leaf colouring is faint grey green, pale yellowish cream or tinged orange to pink near their tips (Smith, et al, 2017; Van Jaarsveld, et al, 2006; iNaturalist; iSpot).
