Lower stem leaves of Crassula barbata have the same long, straight, white hairs as the rosette leaves below. The leaves bear hairs only upon their margins.
The stem leaves below the inflorescence are spaced, fleshy like the rosette leaves and sheathing the stem. Higher up they grade into bracts among the flowers (Frandsen, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
