Mesembryanthemum splendens grows large, a sprawling shrub with stems that invade the space of surrounding plants.
This one was seen near Oudtshoorn in May after rain. It is one of the most common succulent plant species of the Little Karoo and further afield in South Africas arid inland parts (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
