The fruit capsules of Mesembryanthemum splendens are buff-coloured and soft, each having five locules. The valve wings fused to the valves rise at their lateral edges, curving inwards over the central surfaces of the valves covering the locules in picture.
The fruits are held up among lush new growth in clusters on long pedicels in picture (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
