The stem leaves of Osteospermum amplectens alternate well-spaced upon the thick, shiny and faintly reddish young stem in picture.
Only the base of the broadly sessile leaf is rounded, the pointed teeth to follow are widely and unevenly spaced; slight rounding to the margins appears again at the narrowing tip. These upper leaves are markedly smaller than some of those lower on the plant (Le Roux, et al, 2005; JSTOR; iNaturalist).
