Microloma sagittatum commonly in Afrikaans bokhorinkies (little antelope horns) or melkblommetjie (little milk flower), is a slender climbing shrublet reaching heights around 1 m.
It grows many thin rambling green stems, narrow leaves and small clusters of pinkish red flowers. The plant is so heavily browsed that the presence of mature plants indicate good veld management.
This species is found from Willowmore in the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape through the Karoo and Little Karoo to the west coast and northwards into the Northern Cape part of Namaqualand.
The habitat is fynbos, renosterveld and succulent Karoo in rocky, loam soil. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century.
The genus of 11 species comprises a few found in distributions overlapping with that of M. sagittatum. These include M. calycinum, M. tenuifolium and M. namaquense (Manning, 2009; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
