Six narrow tepals diverge upwards from the base of a fully open Nerine humilis flower. Where more flowers form part of the bigger stem-tip inflorescences, these concurrently open flowers create a busy look of special interest to the pollinators around in the often grey Little Karoo environs.

The narrowly oblong pink tepals have straight margins in their lower parts, rowdily wavy ones in the upper parts, enhancing the busy floral appearance. The central tepal vein lines are consistently darker coloured.

A few flowers in picture haven’t yet spread their tepals, should be considered as buds still. Others again have already developed into clusters of fruits (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
