Nerine humilis, sometimes called the mountain nerine and previously scientifically N. peersii, is a bulbous perennial that in bloom reaches heights from 15 cm to 40 cm.

The leaves are strap-shaped, 4 mm to 10 mm wide and pale, dull green here. The leaves are dry or just emerging when the plant flowers. These leaves were seen in the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden.

The species distribution is in the Western Cape from Clanwilliam to the western part of the Eastern Cape, as far as Baviaanskloof. The larger plants east of Oudtshoorn may be split off as another species, an unresolved matter in 2010.

The habitat is rocky slopes in various veld types, including fynbos. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
