Some developing Moraea schlechteri fruits are visible on branch tips around the open flowers in picture. They grow solitary on stalks clasped by remaining, dry spathes, while the used-up parts, the petals, stamens and styles have all dropped off.
The slightly shiny fruit has an ovoid to inverted pear-shape, slightly indented on top, from where the stamens and style used to protrude (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
