Oxalis ambigua leaves may be prostrate as in the photo, the obliquely rounded lateral leaflets smaller than the terminal one, positioned close to it. Only the margins are hairy.
The blades, here dull grey-green, may also be yellow-green with visible midribs and faintly bulging net-veining. In this photo the leaflets are slightly convex above, or bulging.
Some plants have dark purplish to maroon blotches scattered across the leaflet blades and blackish dots underneath, on the lower surfaces.
The pale red petiole in picture is thick and channelled (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
