    The leaves of Plectranthus saccatus var. saccatus don’t ascend in picture as their long petioles do. These petioles are channelled on top, at least close to the blades.

    The ovate blades are symmetrically lobed or toothed in their upper parts, broadly tapering to square or flat at the base. Indentation along the midribs and the ascending, in-curving lateral veins is mostly softly subdued on the fleshy, faintly hairy and pale green upper surfaces.

    Brown calyces of yesterday’s flowers that have lost their corollas are thin-pedicelled beside the upper leaf axils (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
