    Pelargonium peltatum may scramble to 4 m in the coastal and succulent scrub of its habitat.

    The leaves are five to seven-lobed and slightly folded along the lobe divisions, with characteristic maroon zonal markings in the leaf centres.

    The pale pink to purple flowers have some variable markings on the upper petals (Manning, 2009).
