Pelargonium magenteum makes a strong flowering statement in its mostly grey-green natural surroundings late in winter and through spring.
The flower stalks are short. The calyx tube is about 3 cm long, the sepals pointed.
The flowers are brightly coloured in different shades of magenta. The corolla is long-tubed, with broad, darker lines on every petal from its base to the centre. The flower diameter is about 2 cm (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
