    The persmalva or Pelargonium magenteum may be found scattered in large stands among other shrubs in the veld where they grow; spectacular when in flower. They are not shy of scrambling over their neighbours.

    The species had a name change from Pelargonium rhodanthum, recognizing the flower colour. The white colour is probably the older flowers transforming.

    The photo was taken in the second week of September (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
