Pelargonium incrassatum

Pelargonium incrassatum annually grows a few leaf tufts close together from a thick and twisted, somewhat cylindrical and branched tuber. The plant does not grow taller than about 20 cm.

The unusual, deeply lobed leaves with their two-tipped oblong silky green strips growing at odd angles are clustered well below the flowers in picture.

Flower colour varies from pinkish magenta to cerise. The corolla tube may be as long as 4 cm. Flowers are seen at the end of winter and the start of spring (Manning, 2009; www.bihrmann.com).
