The leaves of Pelargonium trifidum are succulent and deeply lobed into three sections. Leaf margins are toothed; leaf diameter is about 4 cm and leaf colouring pale to yellowish green. The leaves grow on many long, scrambling branches in a trailing habit, finding their way into adjacent vegetation in habitat, mostly karoid bushes.

    P. trifidum is said to exude a pungent fragrance.

This plant loses its leaves readily during dry seasons (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; www.plantzafrica.com).
