Pelargonium karooicum new leaves

The leaves on this Pelargonium karooicum stem-tip are only starting to develop at the time of flowering (photo in March). The plant may also display no or only dry leaves when in bloom. The variable leaves show wider or narrower sections on its sometimes angular stems (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
