The umbel-like flower cluster of Pelargonium carnosum subsp. carnosum buds point outwards on short pedicels. They are hairy, green near the pointed tips and red at the base where a distinct knob is present immediately behind each bud.
The calyces are much greener than the visible leaf. The calyx becomes up to 1 cm long (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; iSpot).
